Who are we?
Welcome to That Green Lady, we are Maria & Max! We believe life is better with a touch of nature. This is why our bioactive terrariums, DIY Kits and workshops are designed and handcrafted to mimic the delicate balance of the world around us, creating, or helping you to create an immersive ecosystem that can be customised to fit the needs of any living or working space.
Like many stories born in small spaces with big dreams, ours began in a post-pandemic flat; no garden, no balcony, just four walls and a growing need to reconnect with nature.
Houseplants helped, but it wasn’t enough. We craved the feeling of soil, the quiet calm of greenery, and the satisfaction of creation.
That’s when we stumbled upon the world of bioactive terrariums; tiny ecosystems that could thrive in glass, right on a windowsill. Inspired by SerpaDesign on YouTube and fuelled by curiosity, we began building our own. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a passion project, and in 2023, That Green Lady was officially born.
Since then, we’ve been sharing our miniature worlds at markets and events, meeting fellow plant lovers and helping bring a little green magic into homes and workspaces across the UK, eventually launching as a full time business in 2024 and expanding to offer DIY Kits and immersive workshops as well as our own creations. It’s still just us, the moss, and a vision; rooted in joy, growth, and a love of the little things, and we can’t wait to share that passion with you.
